The company can undertake design work, all sheet metalwork, engine rebuilding and re-construction, magneto rebuilding, woodwork, machining, metal spinning, roll forming, streamline wire manufacture, and much besides.

Retrotec is believed to be unique in the historic aircraft restoration world in having a full-time engineering inspection department as well as a separate airworthiness management department. It benefits through CAA A8-20 approvals, with licensed engineers in attendance.

On many occasions contracts have been commissioned to solve technical problems for other restoration shops, including spars for the Walrus, Gladiator, Hawker Demon and not least the Hawker Hurricane, of which few would be flying today without Retrotec’s technical input.
